The Cyclone opened in 1927 and is one of the oldest rollercoasters operating. Without question, it is the benchmark for which most wooden coasters are made. It has the distinction of being the most copied rollercoaster ever built. 7 &quot;clones&quot; are currently operating throught the world. The Cyclone was designated a New York City Landmark in 1988.
