One of the big disadvantages (if not the only one and biggest one) of the standard Simcity menu is that the menu depth is limited. We can not create our own subcategories, but we are forced to add custom items to the already existing menus. After several years of custom content, the parks and landmarks menu are hopelessly overloaded with custom content. Not too long ago, MML's (Menu Management Lots) were created to alleviate this problem but unfortunately they have two issues:
- once a group of buttons is unhidden, they cannot be hidden again unless the city is restarted
- because of the mechanisms of MML's, the hidden lots loose focus after plopping them once.
The DAMN tries a different approach at adding submenus to the game to alleviate these problems. It does not by default hide lots from the menu so for some purposes, MML lots might still be a superior solution.

With a new method of hiding lots it is now possible without any problems, to hide the menu icon from the standard SimCity menu and to plop the lot from the DAMN menu without loosing focus.

Using the DAMN is very simple. If installation is correct, a link Open Additional Submenus will appear at the botton of your news ticker. Click this link and the DAMN will pop open. If you have popups turned off, you will need to turn them on to use the DAMN. At the top of the menu, you always see a Back button, a Home button (which takes you back to root) and a search button. You can click the icons in the menu to enter any submenus. When there are selectable items, either click the left icon to get the plop tool or click the info button to get more information. Generally, you can select the plop tool in the additional message as well.
Whenever you open the menu again, it will go back to it's last position so you can easily select lots from the same set.

Installing DAMN

To install DAMN simply start the SSPTool and choose the tab DAMN. There you can press the button to install the DAMN. You might have noticed it created a DAMN folder in your Plugins. You should never move the DAMN to a different folder, it is very important that the root folders stay in the same place. Similarly, you should never datpack the DAMN folder.
ATTENTION! The work directory of SimCity shouldn't end with /Apps but with SimCity, else DAMN will not work!
运行SSPTool选择DAMN.一路的按钮会指引你安装DAMN.你应该注意到创建的DAMN在插件文件夹中.就不要随便移动它了…处在同一根目录很重要的(译者:为什么??).同样的,不要把它用DATPACKER打包.

In the DAMN folder there are two subdirectories: DAMN\Root and DAMN\Support.

- The Root folder serves as the root of your menu hierarchy. Any files here will be put directly in the menu root, so you probably will never want to ass things directly here. The DAMN in game will follow the folder structure of the DAMN folders, so you can easily customize the DAMN to your preferences.

- In the support folder you will find some files that provide the base functionality of the mod. A very important file here is the "DAMN-Indexer.cmd". After adding files to the DAMN folders, you should always run this script. The latest changes will not appear in game until you do. Always remember that any DAMN set you add to the DAMN folders will most likely only contain the DAMN item definitions needed for an item to show up in the menu. To use the items in game, you will always need the original set of lots.

To generate new DAMN Menues start the DAMN-Creator wizard from SSPTool. It will provide an easy way to create a new DAMN Menue and will lead you through the process of creating. It will also run automatically the DAMN-Indexer to complete creation.
